RAISED GRAIN MAINTENANCE
Wood is a living material, which means it can naturally respond to moisture over time. Occasionally, items like charcuterie boards or utensils may feel rough after a few uses — a result of a process called grain raising. While we take every step to minimize this in our products, it can still occur depending on the specific wood used.
The good news? It’s an easy fix — and often only needs to be done once.
Fix It Yourself
Restoring the smooth finish is simple:
- Sand the surface along the grain with 180-grit sandpaper until smooth.
- Follow up with 220–240 grit for a finer finish.
- Apply food-grade mineral oil generously.
That’s it — your board or utensil is back to its original condition.
